If you have ever opened “settings” in an app and felt like you were exploring a cave with seventeen identical doors, you are not alone. Managing a home in Chorish—members, chores, games, exports, the occasional “wait, where was that again?”—deserves a calmer front door. We have refreshed Manage home into a tile layout: the important stuff is big, the rest is grouped, and you can get where you are going without a treasure map.

Manage home in the browser: two shortcut tiles up top, then every management area in one scannable grid.
What you will see first
At the top of Manage, two wide tiles jump out on purpose. View reports is your shortcut when you want the numbers and charts side of the house. Go to home dashboard whisks you straight back to the living room—the Choreboard, sticky notes, member tiles, and all the day-to-day energy—without hunting for a tiny link. Think of them as the “I am done tweaking, take me to the party” and “show me how we are doing” buttons.
Below that, the grid holds everything else an owner might need, each spot with a clear icon and label. No nested mystery menus; if it is something you configure for the home, it probably lives here as its own tile.
The grid, in plain English
Members, Chores, and Notes are the day-to-day trio: who is on the roster, what needs doing, and quick household reminders. Certificates is for printable awards and optional Chore Champion.
Settings holds resets, games, rewards, and the rest of the house rules. Clock is where you choose which clock to show on the home dashboard (the clock widgets article walks through the styles). Games is for clearing game play data when you want a clean slate. Export is backups and moving a home between devices. Danger zone looks different on purpose—so serious actions are never just another tile.
Why we like it for real homes
Less cognitive load. Parents at the counter, kids borrowing the tablet, roommates checking the list between classes: everyone benefits when “where do I tap?” has an obvious answer. Tiles are touch-friendly, labels are plain language, and the layout reads top-to-bottom like a checklist, not a filing cabinet.
Room to grow. As Chorish picks up new ideas—like certificates did—there is a natural place to add a tile without breaking muscle memory. You learn the grid once; new features slide in as peers, not surprises hidden three screens deep.
Same privacy story. Chorish still runs in your browser, with no sign-up required to get started. The layout change does not change that: your home data stays yours; we are just making the owner tools easier to navigate.
If you loved the old flow
Nothing fundamental moved behind a paywall or vanished into the cloud. You still manage members, chores, notes, games, and exports the same way—only the front door is clearer. If you customize chores with icons and colors, you still hop in through Manage → Chores; you will just spot the tile faster.
Give the new layout a spin
Open Chorish, pick your home, and tap Manage home. Scroll once, see the whole map, then dive into the tile you need—or hit Go to home dashboard and get back to the fun part. Questions about homes, exports, or how Chorish stays private in the browser? Our FAQ has the details—and may your next visit to Manage take fewer taps than the last one.
